Scarlett Johansson - Michael Bay's The Island and Woody Allen

Scarlett JohanssonScarlett Johansson starred w/ Ewan McGregor in Michael Bay's The Island in July 2005, making Johansson's debut as a female lead in a mainstream action film.

In the same year 2005, Scarlett starred in the Woody Allen-directed drama Match Point, which opened in December.

Scarlett received her 4th Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress for the role, but lost to Rachel Weisz.

lady gagaAfter Lady Gaga moved out of Gaga's parent's house, she started hanging out downtown, performing in the Lower East Side club scene with bands Mackin Pulsifer and SGBand.

Finding Gaga herself surrounded by singers who all wrote the same style of music, Lady Gaga decided to do something fresh and provocative in the rock 'n roll underground: pop music.

Lady Gaga's entrepreneur father was shocked when she ran off to the Lower East Side to dabble in drugs and appear in burlesque shows at dive bars with drag queens and go-go dancers. "He couldn't look at me for a few months," Lady Gaga admits of her early experimentation. "I was in leather thongs, so it was hard for him — he just didn't understand."

Scarlett Johansson was involved 4 a short time w/ the film Mission: Impossible III, but was not officially cast b/coz of scheduling conflicts, although a falling out w/ the film's star, Tom Cruise, had been both widely reported and publicly denied. Scarlett Johansson was replaced by Keri Russell.

Lady Gaga - School and Music

As a child, Lady Gaga attended the private Catholic school Convent of the Sacred Heart. Having learned piano by ear at the age of four, she went on to write her 1st piano ballad at 13 and began performing at open mic nights by the age of 14.

At the age of 17, Lady GaGa was one of 20 people in the world to have gained early admission to the New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, where she studied music.

Lady Gaga honed her writing skills by composing essays and analytical papers focusing on topics such as art, religion and socio-policital order.

The same year, in 2003, Scarlett Johansson was nominated for 2 Best Actress awards at the Golden Globes, one for drama (Girl with a Pearl Earring) and one for comedy (Lost in Translation).

Scarlett Johansson was also nominated for Best Actress for both films at the BAFTAs, and won Best Actress for Lost in Translation.
