Home Alone 3 was going to star the original cast, but 20th Century Fox did not allow Chris Columbus, director of the 1st two films, and producer John Hughes to film it back to back with Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.
Instead, Home Alone 3 film was entirely re-cast with a new set of characters and actors who share no connection to the 1st two films. Alex D. Linz stars as Alex Pruitt, a resourceful boy who is left home alone, replacing Kevin McCallister, the lead character of the first two films who was portrayed by Macaulay Culkin.
Tell about... Alex Pruitt is a young boy who is left home alone because he is ill. At this time, four terrorists working for a North Korean terrorist group are sent by their boss to obtain a top-secret microchip that can act as a cloaking device for a missile. They succeed in retrieving the chip and hide it in a remote controlled car, but due to a luggage mix up at the airport with an old woman, the car lands in the hands of Alex who lives down the street from her and gives to him for snow-shoveling her driveway. Alex finds out about the chip in the car, and that terrorists are looking for it. So he sets up traps in his home when his house was their target.

Surprisingly Good,I was home alone one Saturday night and the HBO movie was Home Alone 3. I was a big fan of the others when I was little, but now being 14, I wasn't so sure about this one. It started out SO much different from the others and I found myself enjoying it a lot. The story was great and the kid in it was great too. I give Home Alone 3 a 10/10.
